Peter Jansen Wessel known as, Tordenskiold (1691-1720), Danish admiral of Norwegian origin. His nickname Tordenskiold, signifies "lightning-Shield" was given to him by the king as he addressed these words: "You are the lightning that crushes the Swedes and the shield that protects my kingdom’s navy. "
