Fine earthenware Rousseau service comprising one oval platter decorated with large polychrome fish and twelve plates with multi-lobed border with polychrome decoration of fish, stingray, goose, pheasant, insects, butterfly and flowers. Blue combwork on borders

The Rousseau service was awarded a medal at the Universal Exposition in 1867. This Japonist fine earthenware service with under enamel printing and was produced by François-Eugène Rousseau (1827-1890) after etchings by Félix Bracquemond (1833-1914). It was reproduced continuously until the mid-20th Century.
