Entre-deux chest of drawers, Louis XVI Style

Small "entre-deux" (between two) wood-veneered, gilt bronze and marble chest of drawers.

Transition/Louis XVI Style Work, fabrication from late 19th Century

Height : 79,5 cm (31.2 in) - Width : 55 cm (21.6 in) - Depth : 32,5 cm (12.7 in).

Some of the bronze added on later, few chips at the back of marble top, restorations and localized cracks on the veneer (notably on the side panels).

These chest of drawers, known as " d’entre-deux ", (between two ) were made in the 18th Century " entre deux " (between two doors) or (between two) windows, explains the origin of their current name. The narrowness and the height of this type of chest of drawes thus demonstrates the place they were to be placed in an interior.
