The god Rama

Ramayana scene depicting the god Rama in the center of painting as seventh incarnation of god Vishnu, seated on his throne, richly adorned and carrying his arch. At his sides, among his court, are Lakshmana, Hanuman and his wife Sita, daughter of King Janaka, covered with jewelry, holding lotus flower in her right hand.
The Ramayana is one of the two great mythological epics in the Sanskrit language, compiled between the 3rd Century B.C. and 3rd Century A.D., which tells of the emblematic journey of the hero Rama in a world inhabited by gods and demons.
