Javacheff Christo was born in 1935 in Bulgaria. After the School of Fine Arts in Sofia, he rejected the imposed normes imposed by the Socialist regime and left for Paris in 1958. He became friends with the Nouveaux Réalistes in 1963. After his Abstract beginnings, he began, with his wife Jeanne Claude de Guillebon in the wrapping of objects.
They created temporary works by wrapping landscapes, points of interest and monuments and "land art".
These realizations such as Iron Curtain (1961-1962), Valley Curtain (1970-1972), Running Fence (a small barrier evoking the Great Wall of China in 1967 north of San Francisco) or wrapping of the Pont Neuf in Paris in 1985 which had a magestical impact with the public.
