Pair of officer’s flintlock pistols circa 1780


Pair of officer’s flintlock pistols. Round barrels with half-plated lugs decorated with gilt foliaged scrollwork lengthwise. Plates and swan’s neck hammer, with flat body. Engraved with a mythological scene. Reinforced bracelets at muzzle (one added later), triggers, counter-plates, thumb rests and silvered brass cut-out buttcaps and engraved with foliaged scrollwork, guns trophies and flowers. Walnut stocks. Wood ramrod.

Fairly good condition. Missing one hammer and ramrod
