PARIS.
Rare porcelain baptism font designed with figure representing one of the Stations of the Cross: Christ falling with his cross. His left hand is atop a shell which forms the gilt-ground font. He is clothed with a blue ground tunic enhanced with gilt stars, he is holding a gilt-ground cross and polychrome decoration on his face. This scene is atop an adhered plinth decorated with gilt combwork and threading.
19th Century.
Height: 27,5 cm (10-3/4 in.) - Width: 24,5 cm (9-1/2 in.).
Gilt wear on font. Very minor chips on the crown of thorns.
