Porcelain plate with double peacock decoration from the model by King Joao VI of Portugal. China, Qianlong Period
Porcelain octagonal plate painted in Famille Rose enamels on the basin with a decoration known as « double peacock » of two peacocks perched on a pierced rock. On the right, an impressive peony branch on a knoll. On the outer rim, branches of cross-bar motifs and chrysanthemum branches.

King Joao VI of Portugal had an identical service which he took with him during his exile to Brazil.
