Porcelain soup plate. China, Yongzheng Period


Porcelain soup plate painted with Famille Rose enamels of scene representing a sage crossing a lake via footbridge. Wall and rocky coast behind him. At end of footbridge, closed garden on islet. The inner rim is richly decoration with trellis frieze accented with six peony flowers and second blue turquoise frieze with incised decoration. Outer rim ornated with frieze of branches and diverse flowers. Back with four sacred lingzhi mushrooms.
