Coffee service described as "Service à café mince à fond changeant fleurs et attributs en pâte genre Louis XV" (Small coffee service with ground of changing paste overlaid flowers and attributes, Louis XV type). Comprising one rectangular multi-lobed tray, one covered coffee pot, one milk jug, one sugar jar, two cups and saucers in one case. Hard paste porcelain with “pâte sur pâte” decoration of wide rose garlands held by ribbon and surrounded by music and hunting horn attributes. Mistletoe flowers or daisies on lids. Gilt threading accented with white dots on borders. Button-shaped finials. Tray dated 1859 and signed J. GELY. Covered coffee pot dated 1859 and signed JG. Milk jug dated 1859 and signed JG. Sugar jar dated 1873 and produced later. Cups and saucers dated 1859. Leather-sheathed wood case fitted with two handles manufactured by GOUVERNEUR FRERES, Frs Btés de LL. MM. 37, quai de l'Horloge Paris. Silk-sheathed and cushioned case.

Chips on milk jug’s lid, spout rim and one saucer. Minor wear on sugar jar’s border. Missing enclosing lock on case’s exterior. Handwritten bill of origin glued under one saucer.
