Shale frieze fragment. Two superimposed horizontal friezes placed on both sides of pilaster with Corinthian capital. Upper part with story scenes representing scenes from Buddha Shakyamuni’s life surrounded by donors and lower part with feminine figures.

Gandhara was a region in ancient India, today located in northwest Pakistan and east of Afghanistan.
